AIM Ghana
Education, Health & Self Sustainability Businesses
AIM Ghana has been working diligently for the past Decade.
We have supported The Good Shepherd Orphanage (in Greater Accra); Given help and supplies to Aveseve school in the Volta Region, increasing pupil attendance from 25 students to over 600 students (during the first five years of our existence); creating the first internet cafe in Bonwire (Kumasi area), establishing a Christian men’s business group for local merchants and children, The Men of Faith; they also help support younger school children in that area. This health and spiritual wellness group in Bonwire (established in 2004) has led to a culture of indigenous community support; In the North, we have cultivated over 30 acres of land for agricultural development (near the border of Burkina Faso), this year it will increase to 40 acres. With the corn, peas and peanuts which are produced we are able to support several hundred people in that local area. AIM has restored and/or built several wells for clean drinking water in the Upper West Region and continues to supplement and support the educational development of thousands of children in West Africa (through distribution of uniforms, school supplies, clothing and shoes). We have helped to support many schools in the past and continue to support dozens of children (inclusive of senior secondary and university pursuits) in their educational development.
AIM has developed a strong history of effectively reaching people one on one and building strong relationships with people in various villages.
In 2011 AIM took on the health care system for children, providing over 500 healthcare cards for children under the age of 18 in the Upper Western Region. The card allows the children to receive free health care. This means they don’t have to suffer from sickness sitting on the ground of their home and die. They can find their way to the local clinic and live. We hope to increase this coverage to over 1500 this year alone.
We also hope to create more wells (for clean drinking water) in these impoverished areas as well as more food programs. Our present involvement includes: a computer literacy program for basic development, malaria education and treatment (through the health care cards) for Upper West residence, education for the prevention of sexually transmitted diseases; the development of a modern octagon school in Wechiau and the further advancement of our educational services for girls.
In 2007 the annual Wechiau Girls Conference was established. It has grown in numbers each year reaching 700 Girls in 2011. We supply the girls uniforms, flip flops, polo shirts, educational supplies and three hot meals daily during the conference period. All are welcomed to support AIM Mission.
AIM has done so many things that we will have to continue listing them into the near future. For example, AIM has supported other non-profits in the area; AIM has worked with local clinics to administer shots and medication; AIM has delivered hot food into extremely rural and deserted places travel on motor bike, canoe and on foot because the roads were uninhabitable by car. AIM has traveled into upper Ghana and Burkina Faso to feed people; AIM has rescued people and supported families and communities who were without hope. Support AIM and you will be giving children a chance to live, you will make a serious difference!!!
