Ten Things AIM has accomplished within its short tenure.
1 – Educational Supplies – Since 2003, AIM has donated tens of thousands of educational supplies. AIM has provided pens, pencils, uniforms, erasers, sharpeners, notebooks, calculators, dictionaries and highlighters. AIM has supported students from elementary to the college level, particularly in rural communities.
2 – Community Commerce Support Structure – Since 2004, AIM has provided commerce lectures and established collective community support groups for the advancement of deprived communities. AIM has provided specialist and skill development in various areas of community commerce; why? In order to raise consciousness and to develop the skill level for micro finance planning and accountability. Our goal is to increase self-sustainability efforts and productivity, giving communities the ability to stand on their own.
3 – Orphanage Support – Since 2005, AIM has supported orphanages within Ghana. AIM provided over 70 mattresses with bedding, food, clothes, toys and supplies to various orphanages within the Greater Accra area.
4 – Clean Drinking Water – AIM has repaired and/or donated Wells for clean drinking water in Northern Ghana. In 2005 AIM repaired its first well in the upper west. Although organizations offer help, many do not practice maintenance. AIM continues to offer help to poor communities repairing Wells (and other damaged goods) and, in addition we provide our own clean water sources for the people suffering from many diseases passed on as a result of dirty water.
5 – Internet Café – Since 2006, AIM started the formation of the AIM Foundation Internet Institute, which provides access to the world through the Internet. AIM Internet café is located in Bonwire, Ghana (the place where the Kente clothe was invented). AIM provided the computers, the electrical wiring, the space, printers, ink, and training for computer users in this region.
6 – Wechiau Girls Conference – In 2007, AIM started the Wechiau Girls Conference (education, health and life skills). AIM provides an annual girls conference in an extremely impoverished town in the upper western region of Ghana. The girls are the most neglected and vulnerable in this culture; as a result, the conference has reached out to 700 Girls annually and it continues to rise. The conference classes include English, literacy, reading and writing, health, hygiene and sports, music and three meals a day.
7 – Hot Meals – Since 2008, AIM has served hot meals to communities.
AIM serves Thousands of children and adults hot meals. Twice a year AIM serves thousands of people. The menu includes: rice, fish, bread, vegetables, hot tea and eggs.
8 – The AIM Farming and Feeding – In 2009 AIM started developing farmland. AIM Started with ten acres and added ten acres each year; AIM reached 30 acres last year. This year we are jumping to 56 acres. Yes, 56 Acres of Land for agricultural posterity in Northern Ghana. AIM has developed (beans, corn and peanuts) and will develop (rice and yams) for life sustainability. AIM has Fed Thousands of people through its farming efforts.
9 – Free Health Care – AIM now provides Free Clinic Care for 850 Children through Ghana Health Insurance. In 2011, AIM started paying for insurance cards for children under 18 years of age, both boys and girls. In six short months, AIM has paid for health care coverage for over 850 children; and counting… With this coverage, children are able to visit and receive medical attention from local clinics. This includes malaria medications, hepatitis coverage, vaccinations and Snake Bite serum. All of these things are common concerns in this area.
10 – Professional staffing – AIM continues to provide a fun loving team of dedicated Educators, Doctors (medical and otherwise), Medical persons, Students (as young as
) and other professionals who are able to provided experienced advice and aid to the people of West Africa.
